Obituary for Terry Richard DeWinter

Terry Richard DeWinter, 80, of Clarksville, Arkansas passed away peacefully at Baptist Health Hospital in Ft. Smith, Arkansas on Saturday September 3, 2022.

Terry was born Friday, October 3, 1941 in Mishawaka, Indiana to Augest DeWinter and Margurite (Brown) DeWinter. He graduated from Mishawaka High School. He went on to marry his wife, Shirley Kay (Clayborn) DeWinter and they had 3 sons, Robert (Bob), Duane, and Randal (Randy).

He retired in the early 2000’s from being a business owner and factory worker, where him and his wife, moved to Clarksville, Arkansas. Terry enjoyed working on vehicles, riding motorcycles, square dancing, playing cards, and his large family. He was best known as a jokester to his grandkids and great-grandkids.

Terry is preceded in death by his parents, wife, grandson Bobby DeWinter, daughters-in-law Lisa DeWinter and Melissa DeWinter, brothers-in-law Larry Clayborn and Frank Russell.

Terry is survived by his 3 sons, Robert (Denise) DeWinter of Clarksville, AR, Duane DeWinter of Wichita, KS, Randal (Virginia) DeWinter of Clarksville, Arkansas. His brother Michael (Anne) DeWinter of Mishawaka, Indiana and their son Aaron (Merri) DeWinter of Tampa, Florida. His sisters-in-law Virginia Russell and family, Debbie Clayborn and family all of Clarksville, Arkansas. Twelve grandkids, Ginger (Shawn) Mitchell, Tara (Jody) DeWinter, Jessica DeWinter, Ashley DeWinter, Lil Terry DeWinter, Kaylea DeWinter, Michael (April) Watson, Matthew Watson, Sandi Watson, Angel Martin, and Tesla Martin. Twenty-one great-grandkids and 1 great-great-grandkid, Isreal Mitchell, Abigail Mitchell, David Mitchell, Liberty Mitchell, Brandon Owens, Bradley (Katie) Buck, Xzavier Buck, Chevelle-Iza Bella Burgess, Seirra Hinman, Brealyn DeWinter, Realeigh DeWinter, Jaxson DeWinter, Brenden Freeman, Andraya and son Kalix Freeman, Emilia Watson, Trey Watson, Johnathan Watson, Samuel Watson, Aspen Watson, Ashlynn Thompson, and Aubree Holland. Family, Johnny and Roxie Hayes and Karen Shook. Many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services are under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home in Clarksville, Arkansas.

Services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, September 17, 2022 at Cornerstone Full Gospel Church at 1191 Mills Road in Clarksville, Arkansas with Brother Kyle Holt officiating. After the service, a gathering will follow.
