Obituary for Lesley Marie Krohn

Lesley Marie Krohn, age 39, was released from the earthly prison of her failing body on June 15, 2022. Lesley was a good friend to many, a hard-driving worker, and life-long Cardinals and Disney fan. Lesley was born February, 11, 1983 in Fayetteville, Arkansas, but soon moved to College Station, Texas where she lived for eight years before moving back to first Russellville, then Clarksville. At the Clarksville schools, she found a home in band and choir and formed lasting friendships with her “gang”. After graduation from Clarksville High School in 2001, she attended Arkansas Tech University, where she eventually ended up majoring in Nursing. After graduation, she worked at Arkansas Children’s Hospital in Little Rock where she cared for her “babies”, which she called all of her patients, even those who were starting to drive. After several years, the teaching bug bit her and she moved to the Arkansas Tech – Ozark campus to join the LPN to RN Associate of Nursing program as an instructor while also enrolling the Master’s of Nursing program at the University of Missouri. After completing her Master’s Degree, she continued at Mizzou, earning a Doctorate of Nursing Practice with a concentration in Nursing Education in May, 2017. At the same time, she moved into the Program Director position for the ASN program and was a driving force in the program receiving national accreditation by ACEN. She continued to lead the program and teach classes until her last day using an eye gaze communication system to create and grade class content and continue to monitor accreditation activities. She was always a nurse at heart, caring for others even when her body failed her.

Lesley loved visiting St. Louis to attend Cardinals’ games and visiting her sister in Orlando and going to the Disney parks. She doted on her son Brock taking him on many trips including Space Camp in both Huntsville and Cape Canaveral. A recent highlight was a cross-country adventure to California to visit Disneyland with side trips to Las Vegas, Hoover Dam, Albuquerque, and Los Alamos. She will be greatly missed by Brock (her son), John (her father), her ATU-Ozark family and many other family and friends from California to Florida.

Lesley was preceded in death by her mother, Angela Bates Krohn and her sister, Caitlin Amanda Krohn.

She is survived by her son, Brock Snider, father, John L. Krohn, and her extended family.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 18 at the First United Methodist Church in Clarksville. A visitation with the family will be held Friday, June 17 at the FUMC Family Life Center from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to FUMC Clarksville, the Arkansas Tech Foundation, or the Arkansas ALS Association.
