Obituary for Joyce Evelyn Sykes
Joyce Evelyn Sykes was born on February 4, 1934 in Durand, Illinois to Conrad and Clara Pettit Wise. She passed away on August 4, 2022 in Russellville, Arkansas at the age of 88. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Clarksville and a LPN.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Carlyle Wise, Gerald Wise, Duane Wise, Robert Wise and Lowell Wise; her husbands, Fred Meinert and Raymond Sykes; and her sister, Twyla Brandner.
She is survived by her sons, Lauren Meinert and wife, Lois of Monroe, WI; Steven Meinert and wife, Carol of Mulberry, AR; Fred Meinert of Monroe, WI; her step-son, John Sykes and wife, Vickie of Russellville, AR; her daughters, Shirla Moody and husband, Roy of Lamar, AR; Kathleen Stout of Lamar, AR; her step-daughter, Donna Frix and husband, Guy of Russellville, AR; 18 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation is from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Tuesday, August 9, 2022 at the Hardwicke Chapel in Clarksville, Arkansas.
Funeral Services are 10 a.m., Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at First United Methodist Church in Clarksville, Arkansas with Reverend David Hanshaw officiating. Burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery in Clarksville, Arkansas. Pallbearers are Aaron Meier, Bradley McCain, Adam Hardin, Jeremy Hardin, Matthew Meinert and Joshua Meinert.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First United Methodist Church in Clarksville, Arkansas.
