John Wayne Laugwitz was born on January 4, 1943 in Clarksville, Arkansas to John B. Laugwitz and Polly (Long) Laugwitz. He passed away on March 25, 2023 in Clarksville at the age of 80. He was a member of the Woodland Baptist Church and he worked at the Clarksville Shoe Plant for 45+ years.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary (Cowell) Laugwitz; his brother, Joe Kenneth Long; his sister, Madia Patton; his granddaughter, Hayley Renee Syfert.

He is survived by his daughter, Johna Syfert and her husband, Brian of Clarksville, Arkansas; his grandchildren, Saylor Syfert Watkins and husband, Richard Watkins of Austin, Texas; Hunter Syfert and wife, Kelly Lyn of Fayetteville, Arkansas.

Visitation is from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m., Wednesday, March 29, 2023 at Hardwicke Funeral Home Chapel in Clarksville, Arkansas.

A graveside service is 2 p.m., Thursday, March 30, 2023 at Lone Pine Cemetery in Clarksville, Arkansas with Reverend Freeling Clower officiating. Pallbearers are Brian Syfert, Hunter Syfert, Richard Watkins, Jerry Cowell, Gerald Cowell, and Saylor Syfert Watkins. Honorary Pallbearers are David Hefley, Fred H. Cowell, Don Cowell, and Carl Easley.
