Obituary for James Rogers Bearden
James Rogers Bearden of Scranton, Arkansas, was born on March 23, 1955, in Fayetteville, Arkansas, to Jim Bearden and Norma Jean (Overbey) Bearden. He was a member of Prairie View United Methodist Church, Forrester-Davis Center, M.A.C. (Making Abilities Count), and a Special Olympics Athlete. He worked as a rancher. James Rogers Bearden passed away on April 24, 2023, in Clarksville, Arkansas, at the age of 68.
He is preceded in death by his father, Jim Bearden.
He is survived by his mother, Norma Jean (Overbey) Bearden of Scranton, Arkansas; his brother, Jack Overbey Bearden, and spouse, Sheri of Lakeland, Tennessee; his sisters, Marta Bearden Schonhoff and spouse, Steve of Huntsville, Alabama; Elizabeth Jacklyn Owen and spouse, Timothy of Van Buren, Arkansas; his four nephews, four nieces, nine great-nephews, one great-niece, and one soon-to-be-announced.
Visitation is from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m., Thursday, April 27, 2023, at the Hardwicke Funeral Home Chapel in Clarksville, Arkansas.
Funeral Services are 10 a.m., Friday, April 28, 2023, at Prairie View United Methodist Church in Prairie View, Arkansas, with Pastor Aaron Madden officiating. Burial will follow at Ware Chapel Cemetery in Scranton, Arkansas. Pallbearers are Matthew Rogers Schonhoff, Joshua Stephen Owen, Bryce Thomas Bearden, Baylor James Bearden, Christopher Wilson, Bryan Christian Gibson, and Casey Douglas Anderson.
