Hettia Christean Hughes of Lamar, Arkansas was born on June 1, 1929 in Knoxville, Arkansas to Lee Hughes and Amy Richardson Hughes. She passed away on December 21, 2022 in Russellville, Arkansas. She was a member of Knoxville First Baptist Church and a Lamar High School Graduate. She worked at Quick Service Laundry, Singer, Sarah Lee, and Home Healthcare.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Dean Hughes.
She is survived by her sons, Troy Wise (Joy) of Lamar, Arkansas; LeeRoy Kemp of Knoxville, Arkansas; Ernie Holman (Brenda) of Lamar, Arkansas; her daughters, Patricia Manning of Knoxville, Arkansas; Clara "Sissy" Belcher (John) of Lamar, Arkansas; her sister, Gwenith Holman of Lamar, Arkansas; her 12 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation is from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at the Hardwicke Funeral Home Chapel in Clarksville, Arkansas.
Funeral Services are 2 p.m., Thursday, December 29, 2022 at the Hardwicke Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Amos Pledger officiating. Burial to follow at Lamar Cemetery in Lamar, Arkansas. Pallbearers are Heath Kemp, Travis Kemp, Bradlee Kemp, Dalton Kemp, Chadd Manning, Kyle Holman, JoLee Manning, and Kevin Manning. Honorary Pallbearers are Jonia Smith, Michael Boze, and Jeff Freeman.
