Herman Charlie and Kathryn (Kathy) Marie Ahrens were called to be home with the Lord on March 8, 2022 in their home at Diamond A Ranch in Lamar, Ark. Herman was the middle child to the late Arnold and Bernice Ahrens born October 16, 1952. Kathy was the eldest twin to the late Jimmy and Kathryn Styles born June 14, 1955. They made their forever home in Lamar where they raised Registered grey Brahman cattle, commercial cattle, and commercial sheep. Herman spent his career working in various agriculture endeavors but most notably was known as the man in overalls on the dock at the Johnson County Co-Op that answered all questions thrown his way regarding livestock. Kathy was an LPN for over 40 years and touched many lives in her various nursing roles. They were active members of the Johnson County community and state by serving on many agriculturally related boards and organizations. They were Honorary Lifetime members of the Johnson County Fair Board and loved hauling their kids to shows all over the country. Herman and Kathy were passionate in helping youth in starting livestock projects and watching them grow into successful members of the community. The family has peace knowing they entered Heaven together.
They are survived by children – Chad Ahrens, Chelsey and Kyle Kimbrough, and Crystal Ahrens (and future husband, Ross Rouillier) and their future livestock shower Ellie Ann; Herman’s siblings – Bonnie and Walt Kirshberger, Arnold (Arnie) Ahrens, Paul and Bonnie Ahrens, Ida Ahrens; Kathy’s siblings – Kenny Styles, Joy and Mike Wilson, Jamey Styles, Jan and Rick Storms; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
