Obituary for Gladys Gipson

Gladys Gipson was born on May 8, 1932 in Clarksville, Arkansas to Sidney Floyd and Annie Rose Skaggs. She passed away on March 5, 2023 in Ozark, Arkansas at the age of 90. She was a member of Twin Oaks Baptist Church, a graduate of Clarksville High School, and a telephone operator.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Sidney Floyd and Annie Rose Skaggs; her husband, James Elbert Gipson; her brothers, Elmer Hoyt Skaggs, Farris Lee Skaggs, Earnest Loyd (Bob) Skaggs, Lester Floyd Skaggs, Ira Alvin Skaggs, Vanis Bee Skaggs; her sisters Hazel Evadean Farris and Edith Jewell Chrisman; her niece, Toni Hunt and nephew, Marty Davis.

She is survived by her sister, Violet Roseanna Woodard; her nieces and nephews, Pam Dobbins, Connie Young, Peggy Brown, Tim Skaggs, David Skaggs, Brenda Miller, Richard Skaggs, Mitzi Kimbrough, Angela Styles, Andrea Chrisman, Jonna Webb, Sonya Covaleski, Rhonda Nelson, Ronnie Davis, and Russell Davis; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.

Visitation will be held before the service from 12:30 p.m. until 2 p.m., Friday, March 10, 2023 at Twin Oaks Baptist Church in Clarksville, Arkansas.

Funeral service will begin at 2 p.m., Friday, March 10, 2023 at Twin Oaks Baptist Church with Brother Marty Claiborne officiating. Burial to follow at Shady Grove Cemetery in Clarksville, Arkansas. Pallbearers are Mrs. Gipson’s nephews and great-nephews.
