Elaine entered into the hands of the Lord on Thursday. A long-time resident of Clarksville, she was well known throughout the community as she was involved in retail with a lumber company, Montgomery-Ward, and H&R Block, as well as her own accounting firm. She advised and prepared the taxes for a large number of Clarksville residents. She was also on the local water board. She volunteered for many years with a local nursing home, one she enjoyed tremendously. Elaine was one who never met a person she did not like and respect.

Elaine was preceded in death by her parents, John D. Higgins and Mable Higgins, and her husband, Gene Parsley, the love of her life. She devoted her time to caring for him until his passing.

Survivors include a niece Brenda Murphy of Oklahoma City, OK, nephews Buddy Herrington of Florida and Ronnie Herrington of Texas, and cousins Anne Fry of Texas and Ellene Whitworth of Texas.

Visitation is from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m., Tuesday, May 2, 2023, at the Hardwicke Funeral Home Chapel in Clarksville, Arkansas.

Funeral Services are 10 a.m., Wednesday, May 3, 2023, at Hardwicke Funeral Home Chapel in Clarksville, Arkansas, with Reverend Amos Pledger officiating. Burial will follow at Woodland Cemetery in Clarksville, Arkansas.
