Obituary for Frances Pauline Cohrs (Johnson)

Frances Pauline (Johnson) Cohrs born to Arnold and Gladys Johnson March 27, 1934 on the kitchen table in Hartman Arkansas. She was named after her Aunt Frances and cousin Pauline who arrived from Oklahoma the night before and witnessed the birth. She was affectionately known to family and friends as Tootle. Her first marriage of 26 years to George Allen Whittle father of her four loving sons, George Ray, James Edward, William Allen and Paul Arnold who added wonderful daughter-in-laws. Frances later married the love of her life Richard (Dick) Cohrs which added two more loving sons Rick and Pete. They spent 26 wonderful years square dancing, delivering meals-on-wheels and driving around shut-in senior citizens in Klamath Falls, Oregon. Fran and Dick enjoyed family meals with the children and grandchildren of the blended families. Frances is preceded in death by brothers, Tommy, Hector Chapel, Junior, and Chig and sisters, Ruth, Lila Dean and BeBe. She shared her life and love with her sister-in-law Louise Johnson and many nieces and nephews. Nothing brought more joy to Frances then spending time with her 10 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter. Frances spent many joyful hours playing bingo with her friends and finding bargains at neighborhood yard sales. She loved working as a nurses’ assistant at St. Agnes hospital in Fresno, CA and also provided in-home service. A special note of gratitude to Kelli Brixey, Michelle Vick and the whole Gentiva Hospice team who where all a tremendous source of love and support. All her sons were thankful to have such a wonderful, caring and generous mom.

Visitation is from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Friday, March 10, 2023 at the Hardwicke Funeral Home Chapel in Clarksville, Arkansas.

Funeral Services are 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 11, 2023 at the Hardwicke Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Jeff Mize officiating. Burial will follow at Hartman Cemetery in Hartman, Arkansas. Pallbearers are Donnie Whittle, Daniel Whittle, Josh Whittle, James Whittle, Jared Whittle, Donnie Harkreader, and Dougie Harkreader.
