Obituary for Estella M. Hilton (Plugge)

Estella M. Hilton, 93, of Clarksville, Arkansas died Saturday, February 13, 2021 at home. A native of Hartman, Arkansas, she was born to the late John and late Marie (Eveld) Plugge on August 17, 1927. She and John H. Hilton were married on September 13, 1947 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hartman, Arkansas. She was a homemaker, a member of the Holy Redeemer Catholic Church and the Christian Mother’s Society, and an avid crossword puzzle solver and card player.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband; one son, Gregory Gerrard Hilton; four brothers, Ralph and wife Jo, Gilbert, Wilfred and wife Jo, and Roman Plugge, and one sister, Delores Wiederkehr and husband Leo.

Survivors include her brother, Richard Plugge, and wife Betty; two sisters-in-law, Shirley and Toni Plugge; two sons, Randy and Robert Hilton and wife Dayna of Clarksville; one daughter, Karen Rossmaier and husband Joel of Clarksville; five grandchildren, John, Jason, and Jack Rossmaier, Jana Braswell and husband Devin, and Michael Post and wife Angie; four great-grandchildren Jaxon, Dean, and Estella Jo Braswell, Penelope Post; numerous nieces and nephews; and her caregiver, Nancy Hull.

Rosary service and funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 19 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Clarksville with Father William Wewers, O.S.B. and Father Jerome Kodell, O.S.B. of Subiaco Abbey officiating.

Pallbearers will be: John, Jason, and Jack Rossmaier, Jana and Devin Braswell, and Michael and Angie Post.

Burial will be at Holy Redeemer Catholic Cemetery under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
