Obituary for Elton David Griggs

Elton David Griggs of Clarksville, Arkansas, was born on September 28, 1952 in Pampa, Texas to Ernest Griggs and Elizabeth Wicker Griggs. He passed away on March 27, 2023 in North Little Rock, Arkansas at the age of 70. He was an Army National Guard Veteran and a member of Hedgeway Church in Lamar, Arkansas.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Ernest Griggs and Elizabeth Wicker Griggs; his daughter, Cherish Griggs Thomas; his granddaughter, Kirstie Heinen; and his brothers, Max Griggs and Calvin Griggs.

He is survived by his wife, Debbie (Sparks) Griggs of the home; his son, Gaston Griggs of Lamar, Arkansas; his daughter, Chanda Griggs Heinen of Conway, Arkansas; his sisters, Marlene Riddle of Pampa, Texas; Barbara Slater and husband, Wayne of Pampa, Texas; his grandchildren, Kori Payton and husband, Daniel, Kylee Thomas, Tristan Heinen, Sadie Griggs, Maycie Griggs, and Garrison Griggs; and his great-grandchildren, Paislee Payton and Tucker Payton.

Visitation is from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m., Sunday, April 2, 2023 at the Hardwicke Funeral Home Chapel in Clarksville, Arkansas.

Funeral Services are 10 a.m., Monday, April 3, 2023 at Hedgeway Church in Lamar, Arkansas, with Reverend Don Alexander officiating. Burial will follow at Stillwell Cemetery in Clarksville, Arkansas. Pallbearers are Cory Kendall, Chad Kendall, Gary Griggs, Steve Thorton, Dan Hansen, Jeff Kulp, Dylan Sparks, and Doug Griggs. Honorary Pallbearers are Brian Thorton, Dustin Kulp, Keaton Kulp, Tristan Heinen, Daniel Payton, Jokoby Sparks, Josh Sparks, and Brit Griggs.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Building Fund at Hedgeway Church at 2218 E Main St, Lamar, AR 72846.
