David Ray Towler of Lamar, Arkansas, was born on August 24, 1946 in Ada, Oklahoma, to Leo and Vera (Bray) Towler. He passed away on December 21, 2022 in Greenwood, Arkansas at the age of 76. He was a United States Marine Veteran, Cabin Creek Baptist Church member, and a truck driver.

He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Linda Sue Pearce.

He is survived by his wife, Phyllis (Russell) Towler, his son, John (Merry Kelley-Towler) Towler, his daughter, Samantha (Calvin) Patterson; his grandchildren, Nikki (Josh) Smith; Rebecca (Kenneth) Born; and Ashley Patterson; and his four great-grandchildren.

Visitation is from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m., Monday, December 26, 2022 at the Hardwicke Funeral Home Chapel in Clarksville, Arkansas.

A graveside service is at 10 a.m., Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at the Fort Smith National Cemetery in Fort Smith, Arkansas with Brother Free Clower officiating.
