David Hewitt Payne of Clarksville, Arkansas was born on August 29, 1932 in Gallegos, New Mexico to Hewitt Payne and Louise Puder Payne. He passed away on September 4, 2022 in Clarksville at the age of 90. He was a member of Oakland Street Full Gospel Church and he worked for the USDA.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Anna Mae Payne; his brothers, Jim Payne, Charlie Payne, and Bob Payne; his sister, Dora Russell; his granddaughter, Allison Payne; his great-granddaughter, Braylee Dalton.
He is survived by his sons, Mike and Darla Payne, Mark and Christina Payne; his daughters, Nancy Payne, Margaret and Bud Harmon; his sisters, Lora Beth Williams and Irene Payne; his 10 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
Open viewing will be held during business hours from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m., Thursday, September 8, 2022 at Hardwicke Funeral Home in Clarksville, Arkansas.
A graveside service is at 10 a.m., Friday September 9, 2022 at Oakland Cemetery with Brother Robert Boen officiating. Pallbearers are Eric Payne, Chris Payne, Matthew Payne, Jessie Clark, Breyer Payne, Baylor Payne, Donnie Reames and Charlie Mapes. Honorary Pallbearers are Dr. John Dunham, Cody Green, Blake Dalton, Great-Grandsons, and Bud Harmon.
