Charles Richard Callahan was born on December 9, 1934 in Clarksville, Arkansas to W.F. Callahan and Naomi (Austin) Callahan. He was an Army Veteran, a member of Cherry Street Baptist Church in Clarksville, Arkansas, and a funeral director. He passed away on February 16, 2023 in Clarksville at the age of 88.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Betty (Horne) Callahan; his sisters, Jackie Davis, Kathleen Nicholas, and Justyne Kirby.

He is survived by his best friend, Winnie McReynolds of Clarksville, Arkansas; his brother, Rodger Callahan and wife, Doris of Clarksville, Arkansas; his sisters, Evaline Brown of California and Doris Curran of Florida.

Visitation is from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m., Monday, February 20, 2023 at the Hardwicke Funeral Home Chapel in Clarksville, Arkansas.

Funeral Services are at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at the Hardwicke Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Amos Pledger officiating. Burial to follow at Oakland Cemetery in Clarksville, Arkansas. Pallbearers are Roy U. Slocum, David Slocum, Toby Wilson, Roy Horne, Bob Hurley, Paul Castleman, and Rick Weaver. Honorary Pallbearers are the Clarksville Fire Department.
